Swisscom Announce Sales of iPhone 3G Will start at 12.01a.m. on 11 July in Zurich

Swisscom today announced that sales of Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 3G will start at 12.01 a.m. on Friday, 11 July. At midnight, Swisscom will open the Swisscom Shop at 28 Füsslistrasse in Zurich to celebrate the launch of iPhone 3G. Most other Shops will open at 6:30 a.m.

Customers wanting to be among the first iPhone 3G owners in Switzerland can visit Füsslistrasse in Zurich on the evening of 10 July in advance of the Swisscom Shop opening its doors from 12.01 a.m. to 3.00 a.m. Refreshments will be available for queuing customers from 10:00 p.m. and members of the Swisscom Executive Board will be on hand to personally serve the first customers from midnight.

From 06:30 a.m. on 11 July, iPhone 3G will also be available over the counter at more than 100 Swisscom Shops across Switzerland. Swisscom Shops with retail premises in shopping centres will open at regular trading hours. For advice or to purchase an iPhone, customers should contact the Swisscom Shops or the following Swisscom trading partners: mobilezone, specialist retailers, selected branches of Interdiscount, as well as Manor, Data Quest, Fnac, Media Markt and Migros Melectronics.

Swisscom customers can take advantage of the following guarantees: configuration guarantee, money-back guarantee, two-year guarantee and replacement handset guarantee.

iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone with HSPA technology that is twice as fast* as the first generation iPhone, with built-in GPS for expanded location based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone Software Development Kit.
