Swisscom is the first provider in Switzerland to offer video-on-demand in high-definition quality. From 1 December 2008 Bluewin TV will offer over 130 feature films, concerts and documentaries in best video quality. Customers can order the new HD offerings, which start at CHF 2.50, at the touch of a button.
In addition to over 500 top films, music videos and documentaries currently available in standard resolution, Swisscom will add a further 130 films in high-resolution format from 1 December 2008. Besides extremely sharp picture quality, Bluewin TV with Dolby Digital 5.1 brings a superior sound experience to the living room.
For Swisscom, high-definition is the video standard of the future. Bluewin TV started offering high-definition viewing in spring 2008 with the channels HD suisse, Anixe HD, the cultural channel Arte HD and BBC HD.
Initially viewers will be able to choose from over 70 feature films, over 40 concert recordings and around 30 documentaries. A large number of synchronised films will also be available in the original language with Dolby Digital 2.0. Viewers make their choice at the touch of a button and the selected titles remain available for 24 hours.
