Swisscom increases salaries by 3.2 per cent

Berne, 17 December 2008

Swisscom has reached an agreement with the unions: salaries will be increased by 3.2 per cent with effect from the beginning of 2009. The general increase is 3.0 percent of the basic salary. This increase will not apply to salaries which are well above the market rate.

Swisscom has come to an agreement with the delegation from the unions to increase salaries by 3.2 percent with effect from the beginning of January 2009. For employees under the collective employment agreement, the general increase will be 3.0 percent of the basic salary. There will be an additional 0.2 per cent available for individual salary adjustments.

Employees paid salaries in excess of the going market rate for their function will receive an uninsured one-off payment of CHF 1,100 (FTEs). This will reduce salary differentials compared with the market.

The salary deal applies to all 14,500 employees subject to Swisscom's collective employment agreement (around 13,500 FTEs).
