Auditing and consulting firm Deloitte has decided to continue to use the telephony and network services of Swisscom. The two companies have signed agreements worth in excess of ten million Swiss francs. Swisscom and Deloitte are also collaborating on a variety of ICT projects.
Deloitte Switzerland will continue to rely on Swisscom in the future. Swisscom has been able to fend off stiff international competition to extend its existing agreements to provide Deloitte's 1000-strong Swiss workforce with telecommunication and network services. The agreement on fixed line and mobile telephony for the five existing Deloitte locations in Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne and Lugano has been extended by 24 months. The provision of local area network (LAN) services has been extended by 36 months, during which time Swisscom will also expand these services. In addition to telecommunication and network services, Swisscom and Deloitte AG will collaborate on a variety of ICT projects.
Swisscom was able to overcome rival bids thanks to its strong presence on the domestic market. Werner Heule, Head of IT services at Deloitte, says, "For us it is important to continue to have a strong national provider at our side. Swisscom perfectly meets our needs on account of the high quality of its networks, its individual solutions and its price structure."
Deloitte is one of the leading consulting firms in Switzerland, offering auditing, tax, general and corporate financial consulting. In 2006, Deloitte merged its Swiss and British operations, with the primary aim of developing a world-class professional auditing and corporate consulting company in Switzerland. Deloitte employs a total of 1,000 people at its offices in Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne and Lugano.
