As a gesture of goodwill, all Swisscom customers who used or wanted to use the mobile data network today will be credited with a bonus of CHF 10. Carsten Schloter, Swisscom CEO: "The mobile data network is very heavily used today. This disruption therefore had serious consequences for our customers, and we express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that was caused."
For customers with a subscription, the bonus will be credited to their November bill. For customers with a NATEL easy prepaid card, the bonus will be credited to their account within the next two weeks.
The disruption affected all mobile services requiring an Internet connection, from surfing to sending and receiving MMS messages and e-mails. Telephone services on the mobile network, the sending and receiving of SMS messages and connections to the fixed network (telephony, Internet, Swisscom TV) were not affected.
