Berne, 14 December 2010

Swisscom was able to reach an agreement in principle with the social partners in the salary negotiations. The total salary payout will increase by 5% overall in the next two years, the majority of which will be individual salary increases. In 2011 the total salary payout will increase by 2.6% and in 2012 by 2.4%.

The agreement with the social partners includes a salary deal for the next two years, according to which the salary bill in 2011 will increase by 2.6%, of which 0.9% will be for general and 1.7% for individual salary increases. In 2012 the salary bill will increase by 2.4%, of which 0.8% will be available for general and 1.6% for individual salary increases. Employees whose salaries are significantly in excess of the going market rate for their function will receive general salary increase of 0.5% in both years.

The salary deal will apply provisionally to all of the around 14,400 Swisscom employees covered by the Collective Employment Agreement. The details of the agreement will be negotiated in the next few days.
