Quantenna and NETGEAR® Receive CES 2011 Awards For HD Video-over-Wi-Fi Bridge Jointly Developed with Swisscom

Berne, 05 January 2011

The universal connection kit by Quantenna, NETGEAR® and Swisscom will receive two awards at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011. The chip developed by Quantenna is lined up to be honoured with the Enabling Technologies Award, while NETGEAR® scoops the prize for the Best Home Networking Solution. Swisscom was instrumental in the product development process- The telecommunications provider ensured that customer requirements were included in the development right from the outset and played a crucial role in quality assurance.

The video bridge Full-11n product enables users to simultaneously transport multiple HD video streams from residential gateways to multiple set-top boxes around the home with the highest possible reach and performance. Swisscom's universal connection kit provides an attractive solution for customers who would like to use several devices such as their TV box, PC, printer, game console or multimedia player in several rooms, without having to lay additional cables for their Internet connection. The kit is currently the only product in the market which wirelessly transmits several HD and 3D channels simultaneously, anywhere in the home.

The universal connection kit (WNHD3004 3DHD Wireless Home Theater Networking Kit), developed by NETGEAR®, was selected by CES as an Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award Honoree in the Home Networking, Home Theater Accessories product category. The kit features a special chipset from Quantenna (Full-11nTM 4x4 MIMO 802.11n Wi-Fi chipset) which was selected by CES in the Enabling Technologies category enabling the industry's most reliable wireless video networking service, anywhere in the home.

The video bridge developed by Quantenna, NETGEAR® and Swisscom is an integral part of a universal connection kit that Swisscom launched in Switzerland during November 2010. The universal connection kit with three stations is available from the Swisscom Shop or the Swisscom Online Shop for CHF 299.00.
