Swisscom is expanding its successful Vivo Casa package, and is now offering the Rapido option, which allows you to surf the Internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The option is available in combination with the Vivo Casa 5* top package, and costs CHF35 per month.
In November 2010 Swisscom launched the three successful Vivo Casa packages, which combine Swisscom TV, fixed-line telephony and Internet access. Vivo Casa is extremely popular with Swisscom customers, more than 50,000 of whom have already subscribed to the bundled package. Swisscom is now offering a new Rapido option for use in conjunction with the 5* top Vivo Casa package. This gives subscribers sufficient bandwidth to surf the Internet at up to 100 Mbps, allowing them to benefit from lightning-fast download speeds that enable video- and music-lovers to download large quantities of data in seconds. As a fibre-optic connection is required, this option is available to all 5* Vivo Casa customers.
Swisscom is constantly expanding its network of fibre-optic cabling, which already covers a number of areas, including the cities of Berne, Zurich, Geneva, St. Gallen and Fribourg as well as the municipalities of Pfyn and Thusis. More than 200,000 households and businesses are currently connected to fibre-optic cabling from Swisscom. That figure is due to rise to a million - a third of the Swiss population - by the end of 2015. At www.swisscom.ch/checker you can check whether fibre-optic connections are currently available at specific locations.
The Rapido option is now available and costs CHF35 per month. It can be ordered through the Swisscom hotline, at Swisscom Shops or online at www.swisscom.ch/vivocasa.
