Nexus S available from Swisscom from the end of February

Berne, 07 February 2011

Google today announced the launch of its latest smartphone in Switzerland: the Nexus S GT-I9023, which runs on the latest Android version 2.3 and offers fast, easy access to the mobile Internet via UMTS/HSPA and WLAN. The phone is expected to be available from Swisscom from the end of February, with prices starting at CHF 49 with a subscription.

Google first launched the Nexus S at the end of last year. This second-generation Nexus Smartphone will now be available on the Swiss market, offering the latest technology and a host of multimedia applications. The operating system runs the latest version of Android, 2.3 Gingerbread. The Nexus S GT-I9023 also comes with an internal 16 GB memory. Data can be transmitted quickly and easily using UMTS/HSPA or WLAN, making it the perfect device for surfing the Internet while on the move and thus the ideal travel companion. Optimised A-GPS navigation also allows users to display their exact position on a 3D map at all times.

The new smartphone has two digital cameras, with the rearside one offering 5 megapixels and an integrated flash. The curved glass, four-inch colour display shows images in the highest quality.

The Nexus S is expected to be available in all Swisscom Shops and in the Swisscom Online Shop from the end of February, with subscriptions starting at CHF 49. The price without a subscription will be CHF 799.
