Crystal-clear voice quality on your mobile: Swisscom launches HD Voice

Starting tomorrow, Swisscom mobile customers can make HD Voice calls without background noise and in crystal-clear quality. If both callers use HD Voice enabled mobiles on the Swisscom 3G network, the call will automatically be in HD quality and at no extra cost.

From tomorrow, Swisscom customers can make HD Voice mobile phone calls in crystal-clear quality and virtually without any annoying background noises. This allows the person you are calling to make themselves clearly heard even if they are speaking quietly in a noisy environment. Swisscom offers HD Voice on the entire UMTS network. Thanks to the best UMTS coverage in Switzerland of over 93 per cent, Swisscom customers can make mobile calls in HD Voice quality almost anywhere.


For subscription and prepaid customers

In order to be able to make use of the improved transmission standard, both callers require a Swisscom Natel subscription or prepaid offer and a HD Voice enabled mobile. These currently include Nokia Lumia 800, HTC Sensation XL or Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S. If both callers are using the Swisscom UMTS network, the call is automatically transmitted in HD Voice quality. There is no extra cost for this service. HD Voice enabled mobiles are available from the Swisscom Online Shop or Swisscom Shops. Customers who are interested can experience HD Voice in the larger Swisscom Shops.
