By combining Axept and Webcall, Swisscom is bundling the expertise of both companies and strengthening its market position in the engineering and operation of software-based Unified Communications & Collaboration solutions. Axept AG became a Swisscom subsidiary one year ago. Together with Webcall GmbH, which has been part of Swisscom since 2008, it has been possible to significantly expand the offering of managed services, in particular in the area of Managed Communications & Collaboration. Combining the two companies will further support this development while enabling existing market activities to be expanded and advanced even further.
After joining together with Axept, Webcall will remain a centre of excellence for Lync and further build on its competencies in this area. The two brands, which are firmly established in the marketplace, will continue to exist for the time being and will be managed in a co-branding arrangement. The new Managing Director of the combined organisation will be Daniel Staehelin, current CEO of Axept AG, who says, "Together we can have a stronger presence on the market and offer our customers even more targeted solutions, all from one source. In the area of Communications & Collaboration with Microsoft-based technologies, we are moving towards a very good size in project business, and we can continue to pursue our growth strategy and successfully implement challenging concepts."
