By entering a partnership with German firm ICW, Swisscom is further expanding its range of products for the electronic exchange of data in the healthcare sector. The turnkey solutions enable the exchange of administrative and medical data between outpatient and inpatient facilities and meet the recommendations of eHealth Suisse, the coordinating body of the Federal government and the cantons.
As part of the new partnership, Swisscom will take over the distribution of ICW products in Switzerland with immediate effect. "The healthcare sector is an important strategic business area for Swisscom," explains Stefano Santinelli, Head of Health at Swisscom. "This partnership with ICW is a perfect addition to our range of services for the reliable and secure exchange of data." Swisscom's strong presence and long-standing commitment in the local healthcare sector provides investment security among business customers. At the same time, patients have the necessary trust in Swisscom with respect to the handling of sensitive medical data. The integration of ICW’s networking solutions into the Evita health dossier and the curaX data exchange platform offers customers innovative solutions from a single provider. Peter J. Kirschbauer, ICW's CEO: "With Swisscom as a partner and our many years of experience in the healthcare sector, we will be able to continue to successfully support the eHealth strategy in Switzerland."
The agreed partnership between ICW and Swisscom will help to promote a more efficient Swiss healthcare sector by simplifying the electronic exchange of data and thus reducing the administrative efforts for doctors. This leads to a reduction in costs and frees up more time for patients. Doctors will also benefit from the constant availability of important patient information, which helps to ensure patient safety and increase the quality of care they receive.
