Swisscom once again crowned the leading provider of Managed Security Services in 2016

As in the previous year, Swisscom has come out on top as the leading Swiss Managed Security Service Provider in 2016 in the Security Vendor Benchmark published by the independent Experton Group. Swisscom ranked among the best of the 200 companies involved in all of the criteria being judged, and is clearly the leader in the Managed Security Services category. Swisscom was also ranked in the leader quadrant in seven other service categories and was thus given the title of “Security Leader Switzerland”.

The Experton Group analysed all of the security services provided by Swisscom as well as those of approximately 200 other providers in its “Security Vendor Benchmark 2016” study. It placed Swisscom in the best possible leader quadrant in all of the categories evaluated and named Swisscom “Security Leader 2016”. In the Managed Security Services category, Swisscom was the clear leader in the Swiss market due to both the attractiveness of its portfolio and its strong competitive position.

Customers also benefit directly from the investments Swisscom has made in its security services. Cyrill Peter, Head of Product Management Security Solutions at Swisscom Enterprise Customers, had the following to say on the matter: “Cyber attacks are becoming increasingly professional and are changing at a rapid pace. Here at Swisscom, we offer our customers an extensive portfolio of innovative Managed Security Services, with the aim of protecting our customers’ IT infrastructure and ensuring secure digital business processes.”

Secure at all times

Swisscom operates a Security Operation Centre in Switzerland, which is staffed by specialists seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and protects customer systems in real time via prevention and detection techniques that are continuously updated. As part of these security measures, all customers benefit from Swisscom’s shared threat intelligence, which is optimised to meet Swiss requirements.

The company provides practically the full spectrum of security services and is able to manage every service on an end-to-end basis thanks to its own network,” said Wolfgang Schwab, Lead Advisor Platforms & Infrastructure at Experton Group AG, illustrating why Swisscom was presented with this title.

Experton also judged Swisscom to be the leading company in Switzerland in the following security-related categories: IT Security Consulting & Professional Services, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Mobile Security, Database Security, Security for Clouds and Data Centres, Backup and Data Recovery, as well as Disaster Recovery. Swisscom was placed in the leader quadrant in all of these categories.
