The start of their training marks the beginning of an exciting journey, during which our new apprentices will discover exactly what they’ve got in them. Not only will they acquire expertise, but they will also develop vital skills for their future.
Swisscom wants to support as many talented young people as possible as they head into the networked future – and offers them the freedom they need to develop their skills. In line with its new brand positioning ‘Discover your possibilities’, Swisscom is providing training to around 700 apprentices. A further 21 students also have the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in IT with integrated practice.
This year, 188 apprentices will start their training in six different vocational disciplines: IT, Interactive Media Design, Mediamatics, Commercial Education, Retailing Specialist and Digital Business Developer (Federal VET Diploma). Six students have opted for the bachelor’s degree in IT. Fourteen apprentices will be commencing their vocational training at the subsidiary cablex as network electricians (Federal VET Diploma), specialising in telecommunications and assembly electricians (Federal VET Diploma).
Stefanie Gansterer, Head of Next Generation: “Besides representing future talent, our apprentices also bring fresh ideas and inspiration for today. It is both a privilege and an honour to accompany them on their journey. Their openness, their wealth of ideas and their independence provide a breath of fresh air for our everyday working lives – and show us just how much potential lies in the next generation.”
