Digital radio is radio for the 21st century. Compared with VHF, DAB usage is increasing steadily and this advanced technology will soon replace VHF altogether. So in future, radio transmission will be comprehensive, uninterrupted and static-free. What’s more, DAB enables frequencies to be used more efficiently, as more radio stations can be transmitted alongside one another. Using DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting), we will set up your radio network, from the creation of the transmitter station through to the signal transmission into your customers’ homes.
Swisscom Broadcast has years of experience in the implementation of digital radio networks for SRG SSR (Swiss public broadcasting organisation) and actively promotes their ongoing development. We provide digital radio coverage in German-speaking Switzerland for SwissMediaCast, which currently has 40 DAB+ radio stations on air.
We also plan, build and operate networks for Romandie Médias S.A. This business was set up with the aim of providing all the French-speaking region with a second DAB+ layer and local radio stations from western Switzerland are mainly involved. Currently 14 DAB+ radio stations are on air.
