Dominik Müller named as new CEO of Swisscom Broadcast Ltd
The present Head of Network, IT & Operations is to take over as CEO of Swisscom Broadcast following the retirement of Jean-Paul de Weck, who has been at the helm of Swisscom Broadcast for twelve years. Dominik Müller will commence his new role on 15 November 2019.
On 29 August 2019, more than 400 guests descended on the Kaufleuten Zürich for SwissRadioDay, the biggest annual event for the Swiss radio industry. Swisscom Broadcast was once again in attendance as a presenting partner and with its own booth.
Involving specialist addresses and discussions on where radio and media technology and the industry as a whole are heading, as well as presentations on the latest developments, the event has become a fixed date on the radio calendar.

Swisscom Broadcast equips Fribourg-Gottéron ice hockey club’s new stadium with a video surveillance system
The new St. Leonhard (Fribourg-Gottéron) ice hockey stadium is being equipped with a video surveillance system to guarantee spectators’ security and to protect the tenant from acts of vandalism. In the event of an incident, authorised police employees can use the stored CCTV data for their investigative work.

SwissRadioDay is celebrating its anniversary. On 29 August 2019, SRG and private radio companies are co-hosting the 20th SwissRadioDay: Swisscom Broadcast is presenting partner of this biggest event on the Swiss radio scene and looks forward to welcoming visitors to its stand.
The SFL season starts with Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and Swisscom Broadcast as technology partner
The start of the 2019/20 Super League season this Friday will also see the launch of VAR in Swiss football. The SFL is collaborating with several technology providers to make this happen. Swisscom Broadcast is responsible for signal transmission between the outside broadcast vehicle and the video operation room (VOR) for 180 matches per season.
GIB-Solutions Ltd is migrating its existing TV system and is now using Swisscom Broadcast’s TV-as-a-Service 2.0 (TVaaS). This will allow the company to offer customers a huge range of channels in the best quality available, as well as 7-day Replay, individual recording options and many more useful features under their own brand «YplaY». Swisscom Broadcast to upgrade the POLYCOM backbone network for the Cantonal police of Vaud.
The Canton of Vaud – Department for Institutions and Safety – invited tenders for a project to upgrade its POLYCOM backbone network. 3 tenders were received. Swisscom Broadcast was awarded the contract to upgrade the POLYCOM backbone network for the Cantonal Police of Vaud. The winning tender was the one that came out on top in the multi-criteria analysis.

Professional radio (push-to-talk) in action: at the Swiss Federal Gymnastics Festival in Aarau. The Swiss Federal Gymnastics Festival (FGF) is Switzerland's largest mass sporting event. It took place between 13 and 23 June 2019. To enable the organisers to coordinate and manage all service providers, a system including a TETRA base station and around 180 handheld receivers was supplied by Swisscom Broadcast.
