Photovoltaic roof for Saanen Hornfluh transmission facility
Another Swisscom Broadcast transmitter site has been upgraded with a photovoltaic system. The previous roof of the Hornfluh transmission facility has been replaced with an in-roof PV installation. The new roof is equipped with a snow guard to protect the safety of people at the facility and therefore meets the requirements set out for high-altitude sites. From now on, the location will produce at least 46,782 kWh of solar energy per year, which equates to the annual electrical energy consumption of 12 average Swiss households.
