Both the number of successfully funded campaigns and the volume of funds raised have experienced strong growth in recent years. The volume has increased by a factor of almost nine in comparison with 2011. Although recent years have seen the Swiss crowdfunding market grow markedly, absolute volumes of funding remain at a low level.
Swisscom and the Institute of Financial Services Zug IFZ surveyed the 33 platforms active in Switzerland between January and December 2015. All these platforms included in the study can be categorised under crowddonating, reward-based crowdfunding, crowdinvesting or crowdlending.
