Newly established Zähringer Privatbank places its trust in Swisscom

Berne, 29 April 2015

Zähringer Privatbank AG moves into its registered office in the city of Berne on 4 May. The newly established asset management bank has outsourced its entire information technology systems, securities processing and payment transactions to Swisscom to enable it to focus fully on its clients and the financial markets right from the onset.

While up to ten banks disappear from the Swiss market each year in the wake of mergers, acquisitions and closures, a team with many years private banking experience has decided to use the change under way in the financial services industry as an opportunity to establish an independent, owner-managed bank, the first new bank to be established in Switzerland for several years.

Zähringer Privatbank is committed to classical values and the delivery of modern solutions. In keeping with this principle, it is outsourcing to Swisscom key parts of its value chain that are non-differentiating at the interface with the client. The Swisscom processing centre for banks is supplying Zähringer Privatbank with a banking platform featuring the core solution of its partner Finnova and peripheral systems such as a client management tool. The bank will also process its securities business and payment transactions via Swisscom.

“This solution enables us to focus fully on our core business of providing asset management services for Swiss clients. We offer them customised and transparent asset management, while Swisscom ensures efficient processing”, says Martin Schenk, Chairman of the Executive Board of Zähringer Privatbank AG
