We are increasing the high-speed roaming data volume for NATEL® go roaming subscriptions from 2 GB to up to 40 GB from 1 March 2019. This will make mobile working and carefree communication standard practice worldwide.

Experience the highest standard of telephony.

Swisscom has upgraded its 4G/LTE data network in Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein for IP telephony (Voice over LTE technology). For customers with a compatible smartphone, VoLTE provides an even better voice and telephony experience. A further milestone is WiFi Calling, which along with surfing enables phone calls via any WLAN access in Switzerland.



Switching between WLAN and the mobile network

Your phone calls are always made via the available connection (4G or WiFi). WiFi Calling is only available within the range of a WLAN. There is no guarantee of an interruption-free switch. The switching of a call between WLAN and the mobile network without an interruption is only possible on the 4G network.

Voice quality / EVS

 

With EVS (Enhanced Voice Service) you benefit from crystal-clear voice quality. Phone calls in full HD audio quality, providing conversations of the same sound quality that we are used to from other digital media.

Energy saving

The new technology conserves your mobile phone battery. You remain continuously in the 4G network, making energy-sapping switches to the 3G or 2G networks necessary less often.

Speed

You benefit from a consistently high surfing speed, even during a phone call. The call set-up takes only two to three seconds from the dialling to the phone ringing.


Prerequisites for Advanced Calling

  • Mobile subscription: NATEL® go
  • A 4G/LTE-capable device of the latest generation and a software update by the device manufacturer.

Important information

Emergency calls with international emergency numbers (112, 911) cannot be made via WiFi Calling. We recommend that you use a landline or the mobile network for emergency calls.
The range of Advanced Calling-capable devices being offered is continuously increasing.
As soon as you fulfil the prerequisites for Advanced Calling, you will be notified about this via SMS.
VoLTE will be activated automatically, and WiFi Calling must be activated manually on the device.
