Resolve skills shortages, strengthen innovation, boost productivity: a smarter economy with flexible working models offers a number of advantages, but also represents a feat of strength that makes demands on the entire company. The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) surveyed managers at various hierarchy levels on the current status of “mobile flexible workers” and analysed their responses on behalf of the Work Smart initiative. For the first time, this latest study gives insights into the progress of large and medium-sized Swiss companies in introducing and using smart working models. It also highlights the key challenges and success factors for developing a smart work culture.
