Ready for the future with "Private Banking as a Service"
Habib Bank AG Zurich, which is headquartered in Zurich and also has foreign branch offices and subsidiary banks, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and offers its global customers services in corporate banking, retail banking, trade finance, wealth management and Islamic banking. Personal, efficient customer advice is the bank's core business, supported by state-of-the-art, secure IT systems and settlement processes.
Modernising IT, reducing the cost base
Habib Bank AG Zurich was looking for a way to modernise its IT infrastructure and optimise its processes. Its goal: a low-cost service, with increased security, availability and more efficient market development.
Outsourcing IT and back office
Within 9 months, Swisscom introduced "Private Banking as a Service" at Habib Bank AG Zurich for the Private Banking division. This included outsourcing the entire IT platform with the core banking system Finnova and private banking relevant peripheral systems as well as back-office processes such as payment transactions and securities handling, including management and compliance support. The bank reduced its cost base and created highly available, secure and automated operations as a result. Enhanced interactive channels with private banking clients allow customer advisers to work more efficiently. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and systems also enables further steps to digitisation. Habib Bank AG Zurich is benefiting from standardised and automated settlement processes.
In the fully managed "Private Banking as a Service” service model, Swisscom is responsible for coordinating and managing all licences and sub-suppliers. It ensures a stable, secure and high-performance architecture for the entire system and its continuous development.
