Successful migration to Microsoft Office 365
One of Europe’s leading producers of textile ribbons, Kuny AG exports most of its products all over the world. It recently updated all its ICT infrastructure and, at the same time, migrated to an Office 365 solution from Swisscom.
Sometimes, companies reach the stage where their ICT infrastructure is out of date and needs to be replaced so they can continue working productively or, even better, more efficiently. Kuny AG had reached this point, so it acquired a new server infrastructure and telephone switchboard. It also updated its industry software.
All sorted? “No!” smiles Mike Haussener, Kuny’s Head of IT and Quality Management. “We definitely didn’t want to bring Office 2010 with us into our shiny new ICT environment – in any case, it won’t be supported for much longer.” He also hoped that switching to the latest Office software would reduce company costs and make communication simpler.
Haussener found just what he was looking for at Swisscom, who offer an attractive and comprehensive Office 365 package. Swisscom experts installed Office 365 at around 50 workstations – thin clients in a Citrix environment – and migrated them within a day.
“We’re now collaborating more efficiently thanks to new tools such as Teams, OneDrive and OneNote,” says a delighted Haussener. “We’re also saving money as a result, partly because we no longer need a mail server.” Local support from Swisscom is also important: “When you know each other, everything is easier. Despite its size, Swisscom is extremely flexible.” Kuny is getting the whole package, including licences and support, for a “reasonable” fixed monthly price, says Haussener.
