The AWK Group is a leading, independent Swiss consulting company. It supports customers with IT, communications and control technology. A new Managed Communications & Collaboration (MCC) solution allows the project teams to work together even more efficiently.
Due to the company’s activities, the AWK Group needs to play a pioneering role when it comes to ICT. After all, consultants need to remain cutting edge in order to provide customers with sound advice on the opportunities of new technologies. So it comes as no surprise that virtually all 130 employees at the AWK Group are extremely technology savvy. What did not fit with this image, however, was the outdated private branch exchange, which was reaching capacity limits. Furthermore, the flourishing company was planning to expand its sites – good reasons for obtaining a modern solution for communications and collaboration.
«For us, it was clear that we didn’t want to operate the new solution ourselves,» explains Peter Gabriel, COO and partner of the AWK Group. «Our IT department has its hands full with other tasks.» The Swisscom Managed Communications & Collaboration (MCC) solution therefore meets the requirements profile perfectly: «The planning, implementation and operation of the new Lync platform are complex. We are pleased that we can delegate everything to Swisscom.» For a fixed monthly price, the AWK Group now uses all state of the art and future proof communication mediums and collaboration tools. There are no investment, migration or depreciation costs and, thanks to the Evergreen service, all components are always up to date.
«Site independent collaboration has improved dramatically with the MCC solution,» says Peter Gabriel. «Virtual meetings with application and desktop sharing are particularly popular. Project teams as well as managers save a lot of time with these applications – and journeys to our sites are avoided. On top of this, all employees can be reached on their phone numbers, no matter where they are, and this benefits our customers, too.»
