The OSCE Ministerial Council meeting took place in the Congress Center Basel on 4 and 5 December 2014. Approximately 1,200 delegation members from 57 countries took part in the two-day event. We were there as a general contractor, taking care of the ICT infrastructure and congress equipment. Our team set up the infrastructure that ensured communication was effective and efficient throughout the conference. Some 800 workstations were set up with the Business Connect voice-over-IP solution – a protected network and high-speed internet connection – that made it possible for delegation representatives to work efficiently during the conference. The TETRA radio system from Swisscom Broadcast ensured that all operations ran smoothly for the organisation committee. We were also responsible for procurement, installation and operation of the audio, lighting and simultaneous interpreting equipment.
Our team met the high security standards required for international political gatherings on this scale. We have been demonstrating our expertise in this field for years as the ICT infrastructure supplier for the World Economic Forum in Davos.
