What are the benefits of Business Communication?
Smart Business Communication is your gateway to All IP. From 2017, All IP will be the only technology in use for telephony, Internet and TV. Switching will give you numerous benefits, including a wide range of telephony functions for which you previously had to buy a local private branch exchange (PBX).
How secure is Business Communication?
Very secure. Swisscom operates its own protected IP network, which is more secure than the public Internet.
What are the benefits of the Business Communication app?
With the Business Communication app, you can call from your company landline number even when you’re away from the office. You can receive incoming calls to your landline number on your mobile, PC or laptop. You can also control how and where people can contact you, and use all your usual landline functions with the app.
How do I get the Business Communication app/client?
You can download the Business Communication app/client at www.swisscom.ch/bc-app and using your individual Customer Centre login. If you don’t have a Customer Centre login, please contact your administrator.
Can I control the same landline number from more than one device (e.g. mobile, laptop, PC) with the Business Communication app?
You can control the same landline number from a maximum of one smartphone and one PC or laptop.
How can I change the settings in the Business Communication app?
You can change the settings either in the Customer Centre (www.swisscom.ch/bclogin) or directly in the Business Communication app.

Where can I find my password for the Business Communication app?
You can view your password directly in the Customer Centre (www.swisscom.ch/bclogin). If you cannot access your company’s Customer Centre, contact your administrator, who can give you login details and a new password if you have forgotten the old one.
How can I change my username?
The username is set in advance and cannot be changed.
I can’t make calls with the Business Communication app/client. What should I do?
You need a Standard communications package to make calls with the app/client.
If you have a Basic communications package, you can only control the telephone handset with the app/client.
Your administrator can tell you which package you have.
Can the Business Communication app damage my devices?
I would like to set up the function keys on my telephone. How?
The easiest way is to do it yourself in the Telephone Handset section in the Customer Centre www.swisscom.ch/bclogin.
If you don’t have a Customer Centre login, please contact your administrator.
Can I install the Business Communication app on private devices and make calls billed to the company ?
Yes, you can install the Business Communication app on private devices (please note what your NATEL® subscription includes). In this way, you can use your company landline number with the usual landline functionalities on a private device and still make calls via your business number.
What do I need to be aware of if I use the app with my private mobile?
We recommend using the NATEL® Infinity (plus) or NATEL® business Infinity (plus) M, L or XL subscriptions with international services included and sufficient data speeds.
If you have a NATEL® Infinity (plus) or NATEL® business Infinity (plus) subscription with unlimited data, it is free to use the Business Communication app in Switzerland or via a WLAN abroad. If you use the app abroad without a WLAN, roaming charges may apply.
Can I use the Business Communication app/client abroad?
Yes. It is free to use via a WLAN abroad. If you use it abroad without a WLAN, roaming charges may apply.
How do I get new versions and updates for the Business Communication app?
As soon as a new version is available, you will be informed via the app/client.
Can I make emergency calls via the Business Communication app?
Yes. However, we recommend using your phone’s normal call function rather than the app for any emergency calls, as this is the only way your location can be identified in an emergency.
Can the app also be downloaded from the App/Play Store outside Switzerland?
The app is only available from the Swiss App/Play Store. Make sure you are using a Swiss IP address. If you are abroad, you cannot download the app.
Can I also use my phone and the Business Communication app/client at home?
You can use the Business Communication app/client anywhere in the world, including on the move (so-called nomadic use). The voice quality of calls made via the app/client cannot be guaranteed. It depends on the quality of the connection at the location concerned.
Using the Business Communication app/client on public networks, networks other than Swisscom, or abroad can increase the risk of phone-tapping by unauthorised third parties manipulating the network.
Why can’t I access the Customer Centre? And how can I access it?
Your administrator decides whether you can access the company Customer Centre and your personal Business Communication settings. Contact your administrator, who can give you login details and a new password if you have forgotten the old one.
Can I continue using my current phones?
Modern IP telephones are required for Business Communication. Swisscom has checked and approved a wide range of IP telephones for Business Communication. These can be purchased at attractive prices from your partner.
- Analogue telephones with * and # keys can still be used with limited functions.
- Analogue telephones with pulse dialling can no longer be used unless they are connected to an adapter. However, Swisscom does not sell these adapters.
- ISDN telephones can no longer be used and must be replaced with IP telephones.
Can I buy and use any IP telephone?
Swisscom has approved a range of IP telephones for Business Communication. You can also buy these phones from other suppliers. Your Swisscom partner can install them for you so that you have the necessary software updates, for example. Other IP telephones cannot be used.
Can I continue using my fax machine?
Yes. You can continue using your analogue fax machine. You can either connect it to the analogue ports of your Centro Business or order a special adapter for analogue telephones from your Swisscom partner. Your Swisscom partner will help you with the configuration whichever option you choose.
I have forgotten my password for the Customer Centre. How do I get it back?
Your administrator can give you a new password.
Are there additional costs for using the app?
If you have a NATEL® Infinity (plus) or NATEL® business Infinity (plus) subscription with unlimited data, it is free to use the Business Communication app in Switzerland or via a WLAN abroad. If you use the app abroad without a WLAN, roaming charges may apply. Charges also apply in Switzerland if you only pay for the data you use.
Can I change my communication packages myself or order new ones?
No, you can’t do this at the moment. Your partner will be glad to help.
