Updating firmware

Swisscom regularly updates the Centro Business 2.0 firmware so you continue to benefit from new functions and improvements after purchase. Updates are automatic, usually at night.

We call the software which provides all the Centro Business 2.0 functions firmware. This web page provides details of the current firmware versions, improvements and new functions.

Latest firmware for Centro Business 2.0 (June 2018)

9.02.12

The firmware is primarily an improved version of firmware 9.02.06 and stabilizes installations using Port Forwarding, FixIP and DMZ. All Centro Business 2.0 not yet using firmware 9.02.06 or FixIP and DMZ will be automatically updated to the new version (9.02.12) within the next weeks. However, you can also update the firmware yourself.







Installation

If you do not want to wait until your router is upgraded, you can also download and install the firmware manually.

Variant 1 on 2

Firmware update via the router portal (recommended)

  1. Connect your router by means of an Ethernet cable and open the router portal by entering the URL 192.168.1.1 in your browser
  2. You can find the latest firmware release under the menu item Settings --> Router --> Firmware
  3. Search for the latest firmware release (see item 1 of the figure)
  4. Update the firmware if your existing release is not up to date (see item 2 of the figure)

Variant 2 on 2

Firmware upgrade via the help page

  1. Download the latest firmware release from the Cisco Business help page (www.swisscom.ch/centrobusiness) and save this (e.g. on the desktop)
  2. Connect your router by means of an Ethernet cable and open the router portal by entering the URL 192.168.1.1 in your browser
  3. You can find the previously saved firmware release under the menu item Settings --> Router --> Firmware (see item 3 of the figure)
  4. Update the firmware if your existing release is not up to date (see item 2 of the figure)






Beta Version

Swisscom provides a Beta version for volunteers who would like to test the software. These firmware versions include new functions and error rectifications. The firmware is at an early stage in its development and new functions are not yet fully optimised and integrated. However, Swisscom assists you with testing and offers support in the event of errors.
Any firmware errors you identify can be notified online. We will send you the relevant form when you register as a test user. If problems arise, you can update to the latest official firmware version at any time.

All Centro Business will be automatically updated to the new version in the next few weeks.
