If you switch to the new fixed net telephony (IP), you can continue to use your fax machine (with the exception of ISDN fax machines). Please be aware that, like your fixed net telephone, your fax machine needs to be plugged straight into the router, and that the maximum possible transmission speed for fax using IP telephony is 14,400 bps.
- The document is not completely transmitted. Whole pages fail to come through to the fax machine and are lost.
- The fax machine cannot send a document: the transmission fails.
In most cases, operating problems with your fax machine can be solved using these two simple measures:
- Turn off your FAX machine's fault corrector or the Error Correction Mode.
- Set the transmission speed again at 9,600 bps. This will increase your fax machine's chances of successfully transmitting a document.
