If you receive unwanted ringtones or pictures and your Swisscom bill is higher than expected, you may have inadvertently subscribed to a chargeable value-added service.
Inadvertent value-added service subscriptions
When downloading ringtones, pictures or SMS news it can happen quite easily that you inadvertently sign up for a subscription to a value-added service. You will not see how much this service costs until you receive your next Swisscom bill. That is why it is worthwhile reading the small print carefully when downloading files.
Cancelling unwanted subscriptions
Send a SMS with “STOP ALL” to the sender number of the SMS or MMS. You will then generally be sent an SMS confirming that you have cancelled the subscription.
If you continue to receive unwanted SMS or MMS, find out who the sender is by using the List of short numbers and contact the sender in writing.
More information about “Unwanted SMS/MMS subscriptions” can be found on the Information page of the Federal Office of Communications.
