Internet Security

Internet Security with virus protection protects your devices from attacks, offering child protection and data protection and helping you and your family shop safely online.

You can make incorrectly blocked websites or applications accessible again by adding an exception in the Internet Security app.

Applications

A blocked application will be listed automatically. To add it as an exception, select: Settings > Viruses and threats > DeepGuard > Show blocked applications > Allow

Websites

To add an incorrectly blocked page link to exceptions, select: Settings > Safe browsing > Browser protection > Show website exceptions > Add new

Alternatively, you can click and allow blocked pages on the ‘blocked’ tab page.

  1. Launch the Internet Security app.
  2. If the browser add-on is not yet installed, you will see the Setup button in the Safe Browsing and Banking tile.
  3. Click the button to add the add-on. The process is different depending on your web browser (e.g. Chrome, Windows Edge or Firefox).

The add-on can also be installed by selecting Menu > Settings > Safe Browsing > Install add-on.

When you reinstall Internet Security, the add-on for the Chrome and Windows Edge web browser is installed automatically. You will see a message in your browser and can confirm activation of the add-on there.

To install Internet Security, the operating system on your device must be up to date.
The following versions are supported:

  • Windows 8.1, Windows 10 version 21H2, Windows 11
  • macOS 12 (Monterey) or above
  • iOS 16 or later
  • Android 10 or later

ARM-based tablets are not supported.

Identity Security

Identity Security protects you from data theft and cybercrime, alerts you of e-mail address misuse and, thanks to the password manager, provides a secure storage location for your passwords.

The password manager helps you to find secure passwords and check existing
passwords (password analysis).

You can enter your passwords and credit card numbers in the “Vault” by selecting “ADD NEW”. The synchronisation function means they can be retrieved on all devices with a master password.

You would like to share the password function with someone? To do so, send a licence to the relevant e-mail address. To use the password manager independently, a separate master password is required on each additional device.

You can enter up to 10 e-mail addresses. The e-mail addresses must only be entered once, even if you are using several devices.

  1. Enter your first e-mail address directly into the app under “Monitoring”.
  2. You will receive an e-mail to confirm the e-mail address you have entered (noreply@f-secure.com). From then on, your e-mail address will be monitored (F-Secure web monitoring).
  3. In the event of data misuse, you will be alerted in the app and can then proceed as advised.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to enter additional e-mail addresses.

If you use several devices, you will have to repeat the installation procedure each time. The devices are then synchronised with each other. You do not have to enter the passwords again and can simply log into your accounts using an additional device. Select “Connect devices” and follow the instructions.

  1. Launch the Identity Security app.
  2. From the sidebar menu, go to Settings > General settings > Autocomplete.
  3. Copy the authorisation code, select the button for your web browser (e.g. Chrome, Windows Edge or Firefox) and confirm the installation.
  4. In the open web browser, select the add-on Password Manager by F-Secure.
  5. Enter the copied authorisation code.
  6. Click ‘Authorise’.

Autocomplete:
With the add-on activated, you can have your saved passwords entered automatically when you log in. The password manager icon then appears in the login fields on a website. The fields are filled in automatically when you select the icon.

You can also access the saved passwords via the vault. If there is a web link for the saved entry, you can click on it to go directly to the corresponding web page with the autocompleted access data.

Scan the recovery QR code that you generated when you installed Identity Security. Without a recovery code, you cannot recover or reset the forgotten master password.
