The universal connection kit is not set up to connect devices using Wi-Fi.
You can link the connection kit with up to four devices which have Ethernet ports, such as the Swisscom TV Box, a computer or a games console. Wi-Fi is used for 'communication', or data transmission, between connection kit devices without the need to run long cables through your house.
The DUO universal connection kit serves as a starter kit and is comprised of two devices. The UNO device serves to extend an existing DUO network.
The UNO and DUO devices are technically identical. The only difference is that with the DUO, the two devices are pre-connected, so that no additional configuration is required to put them into operation. A UNO universal connection kit can be connected to an existing DUO network via the WPS button.
For optimal video transmission, the universal connection kit uses the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, which is less prone to interference than the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band used by traditional routers. The Wi-Fi of a traditional router cannot be used to communicate with a UNO universal connection kit on these technical grounds.
When the red LED lights up, this indicates a poor connection between connection kits. This can, for example, produce a distorted TV image, which shows that the distance between the connection kits is too great. Reduce the distance by moving the devices, or strengthen the connection by installing an additional UNO connection kit.
