Updating firmware

Your router firmware

Swisscom regularly updates the Centro Business 2.0 firmware so you continue to benefit from new functions and improvements after purchase. Updates are automatic, usually at night.

We call the software which provides all the Centro Business 2.0 functions firmware. This web page provides details of the current firmware versions, improvements and new functions.

Installation

If you do not want to wait until your router is upgraded, you can also download and install the firmware manually.

Firmware update via the router portal (recommended)

  1. Use an Ethernet cable to connect your router and open the router portal by entering the URL 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Go to menu item “Settings”> “Router” > “Firmware”.
  2. 2a) Click “Search for updates” to find the latest firmware.

    2b) If you already have firmware saved locally, go to “Search” to add the firmware file.
  3. Use the slider bar to control whether the firmware will update immediately or at 2 am.
  4. Click “Update firmware”.

Latest firmware for Centro Business (Octobre 2020)

All Centro Business will be automatically updated to the new version in the next few weeks.

Firmware update via the router portal (recommended):

  1. Connect your router by means of an Ethernet cable and open the router portal by entering the URL 192.168.1.1 in your browser
  2. You can find the latest firmware release under the menu item Settings --> Router --> Firmware
  3. Search for the latest firmware release (see item 1 of the figure)
  4. Update the firmware if your existing release is not up to date (see item 2 of the figure)
