Internet Backup with USB stick

The Internet Backup stick backs up your Internet in the event of a connection loss. If you lose your Internet or fixed network connection, this gives you download speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 20 Mbit/s.

 

You can set up Internet Backup yourself.

 

You can test your Internet Backup at any time. Simply simulate an Internet or fixed network fault by disconnecting the network cable (DSL or fibre optic cable) from the router. Internet Backup is now active and automatically provides Internet access via the Swisscom mobile data network.

Internet Backup with toolkit

The Internet Backup toolkit keeps you online even if you lose your Internet connection. If you lose your Internet or fixed network connection, this gives you download speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 20 Mbit/s.

 

You can set up the toolkit yourself.

 

The toolkit can be tested at any time. Simply simulate an Internet or fixed network fault by disconnecting the network cable (DSL or fibre optic cable) from the router. Internet Backup is now active and automatically provides Internet access via the Swisscom mobile data network.

Business Internet Services wireless offers secure Internet access via the 4G mobile phone network in places where it is not worth setting up a fixed Internet line or places where the Internet bandwidth is insufficient.

Setup

You can set up Internet Backup yourself.

 

  1. Insert the Internet Backup stick in your router.
  2. Wait until the Internet Backup LED on the Centro Business 2.0 lights up white.
  3. Internet Backup is now activated.

You can set up the toolkit yourself:

 

  1. Hold up your smartphone at open windows to determine which offers the best 4G reception.
  2. Mount the toolkit inside and outside the window and connect the device to the power.
  3. Using the Ethernet cable, connect the toolkit to port 4 on the Centro Business 2.0 router.

Troubleshooting

Internet backup LED on router flashes white:

 

  1. Check whether the SIM card is correctly positioned in the stick.
  2. Re-insert the stick in the router.
  3. Reset the router by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds.

 

 

Internet Backup LED on router is not illuminated:

 

  1. Ensure that the Internet Backup stick is inserted into the router correctly.
  2. Reboot the router.

Internet backup LED on router flashes white:

 

  1. Remove the Ethernet cable for the toolkit from the router.
  2. Reboot the router and toolkit.
  3. Reconnect the toolkit to port 4 on the Centro Business 2.0.

 

Internet Backup LED on router is not illuminated:

 

  1. Connect the toolkit to port 4 (WAN) on the Centro Business 2.0 using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Make sure that the toolkit is switched on.

If you are using the toolkit together with the Business Network Solution, ensure that the Ethernet port in the dashboard of the Business Network Solution is configured for the toolkit.
