Surfing and telephony without broadband Internet access

Mobile and satellite solutions

In around two percent of homes DSL broadband Internet access with the required minimum transmission rate is not possible. Non-broadband enabled, wired connections can be found in households in almost all municipalities in Switzerland. There are various options of providing public service Internet access in these homes as well.

If you have any questions, please contact our freephone hotline 0800 800 800.

Mobile solution

Internet access via the mobile network can be set up quickly and easily. The external antenna is installed where reception is best. Swisscom will provide you with the necessary equipment.

Satellite solution

The two-way satellite solution can usually be installed quickly and easily. Swisscom will provide you with the necessary equipment. In some communities, a building permit is required for the installation of satellite equipment. Please enquire about the permit in your community – Swisscom can provide assistance if required.

Previous offers

Two free entries in the public phone directory

Effective from 01.01.2018, all Swisscom residential customers shall be entitled to two free entries in the public phone service directory. If you are interested or have questions about the second entry, please contact Swisscom Directories Ltd: online via update.directories.ch or by calling 0848 86 80 86

Continued use of old ISDN phones

Customers with the basic service product Swisscom Line basic and the option for “2 additional phone numbers” receive a special router with an ISDN interface if they wish to continue using their conventional ISDN phone. However, Swisscom discourages the use of ISDN telephones in combination with the new IP fixed network telephony since customers cannot benefit from all the advantages of IP telephony, such as HD Voice. Swisscom cannot guarantee that non-telephony ISDN devices, such as alarm systems, will work properly.
