Symmetric speeds

Same upload and download

Swisscom offers symmetric Internet speed in the Vivo packages on fibre optics – with up to 1 Gbit/s. The same upload and download speed for the same price. With an upload speed up to ten times higher, lots of processes are much faster – such as uploading data (videos, music, holiday photos) on services such as YouTube, Facebook or Flickr.

Speed comparison

Which speed is best for which activity

This comparison uses real examples to show which upload and download speeds are best for different activities. The bandwidths required for smooth streaming vary depending on the quality and the provider.

Is WLAN slower?

When you surf via WLAN you don't always access the full Internet speed available to your connection for technical reasons. As well as the distance to the router and the type of building, other factors can also restrict speed: devices with older WLAN standards, using WLAN repeaters or connection kits and the router position, for instance.
