YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Kids are also included in your YouTube Premium membership. Download the YouTube Music app or the YouTube KidsApp to play content offline, without ad breaks or with a locked screen.

How do I download videos and music?

You can use the YouTube app, YouTube Music app or YouTube Kids app to download, watch and listen to videos and music on your mobile device. You can also download and play videos on your computer using the Chrome, Edge and Opera browsers. You can watch or listen to content offline for up to 30 days without an Internet connection.

How do I play videos and music in the background?

When you have a YouTube Premium membership, background replay for YouTube, YouTube Music and YouTube Kids is activated as standard. This means that if you leave YouTube while a video is playing, it will continue in the background until you stop it. You can disable background replay at any time in the settings.

How can I use YouTube Premium on blue TV?

You can launch the YouTube app through the app menu on your Swisscom TV-Box or stream content from your smartphone to the TV-Box.

How do I cancel YouTube Premium if I no longer need the package?

You can cancel your YouTube Premium subscription subject to the applicable minimum contract period through your My Swisscom-access/login.

What is the difference between YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium?

YouTube Premium includes all the benefits of YouTube Music Premium plus additional features such as ad-free YouTube streaming and the option to watch videos in the background or offline.

In contrast, YouTube Music Premium is focused exclusively on music and offers ad-free listening, downloads and background replay in the YouTube Music app.

I already have a YouTube Premium subscription (not through Swisscom). Can I still take advantage of a YouTube Premium subscription from Swisscom?

Yes, you can keep the existing YouTube Premium subscription.

To prevent multiple invoices, proceed as follows: 

A) If the YouTube Premium subscription was purchased and paid for through the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, after registering the new YouTube Premium subscription, you will receive an e-mail informing you that you now have more than one YouTube Premium account and that you should manage them in the YouTube Premium account settings. To prevent multiple invoices, you need to cancel one of your subscriptions there.

B) If you took out the YouTube Premium account through YouTube itself, you will also have to cancel the existing subscription yourself.

C) If you used a different e-mail address for your YouTube Premium account with YouTube, you have two ongoing subscriptions and will need to independently cancel the other account with YouTube.
 
IMPORTANT: If you have taken out multiple subscriptions at the same time, neither Swisscom nor YouTube will refund you.

I am a YouTube Premium customer. Can I switch from a monthly to an annual subscription?

It is only possible to switch after the end of the minimum contract period. You need to cancel the existing subscription first and wait until the cancellation period has ended. You can then take out a new annual YouTube Premium subscription.
