For a future with equal rights - getIT

It sounds so simple: "Men and women have equal rights." This principle has been enshrined in the constitution since 1981 - and yet there are still inexplicable differences in pay, training and careers in Switzerland.

Swisscom is committed to combating discrimination and promoting equal opportunities in all dimensions of diversity. On International Women's Day, we would like to focus on the gender dimension and show you how Swisscom is committed to equality:

Recrute

  • We advertise job advertisements(opens in new tab) in such a way that all genders feel addressed.
  • We offer job sharing and part-time positions and thus create the opportunity for a better work-life balance. In 2021, 1/3 of all job advertisements were already advertised at 60-100%.
  • We are aware that we have unconscious biases - and we don't let them blind us when recruiting. To this end, our employees have access to a self-test and various e-learning courses on unconscious bias.
  • Swisscom is Switzerland's largest provider of apprenticeships for ICT professions(opens in new tab): over 500 apprentices are working in the fields of IT, mediamatics and interactive media design. Swisscom thus also makes a major contribution to the training of female ICT specialists

Sensitise

Convey

  • With the rapidly growing internal "WoMen's Empowerment Community", we make the topic tangible, create a sense of belonging for women and supportive men and provide them with various career tools.
  • Swisscom is a member of Advance(opens in new tab), the largest network for gender equality in Switzerland, and the Ladies Drive Bar Talks Club. Their mentoring programme, skill-building workshops and talks on career tips provide valuable knowledge.
  • With internal and external coaching or the cross-generational mentoring pilot, women are intensively supported and prepared for possible next career steps.

To draw attention to our measures, we are illuminating the Swisscom building P51 in Zurich from Monday to Friday in the colour of the women's strike: purple.
