What is Swisscom Push to Talk over Mobile?
Push to Talk over Mobile (PTToM) is an efficient solution for business-critical communication and rapid alerting. The solution has a modular structure and can be easily expanded, for example with lone worker protection, indoor positioning or customer-specific integrations.
What is the difference to a classic wireless solution?
PTToM is based on the Swiss mobile network. It is not necessary to set up your own radio network.
What can Swisscom Push to Talk over Mobile do?
In addition to individual and group calls, broadcast calls and multimedia messages, additional applications are possible: localization, SUVA-compliant lone worker protection, emergency call, position alarm, acceleration alarm, motion alarm, time alarm, outdoor and indoor localization, geofence, guard tour, alerting and connection of technical alarms such as emergency call pillars, production systems or building technology.
Does Swisscom Push to Talk over Mobile need a special radio network?
No, there is no need to set up a basic infrastructure, as the existing mobile network is used.
How quickly is Swisscom Push to Talk over Mobile ready for use?
We can equip you for temporary use within two weeks. For permanent use, the clarification of requirements and implementation may take a little longer, depending on the effort involved.
Does Push to Talk over Mobile only work in Switzerland?
No, the push-to-talk devices work worldwide as long as you have a mobile network, i.e. a corresponding SIM card, or WiFi reception.
Can Push to Talk over Mobile be used on existing devices?
One of the solution's strengths is its openness: the Push to Talk app works on most iOS and Android devices. We are happy to check the compatibility of your devices.
Is it possible to connect or expand an existing company radio network with PTToM?
Yes, with our PMR gateway it is possible to connect existing business radio networks (analog, DMR, TETRA, ...) to Push-to-Talk over Mobile.
