Expansion Fibre optic network

Expansion of the Swisscom fibre optic network

Progress and future prospects:

Since 2008, Swisscom has continuously invested in expanding fiber optic connections (FTTH), now reaching around 54% of households and businesses.

By the end of the year, we expect coverage to reach 57%, with the aim of achieving 75-80% by 2030. Swisscom allocates approximately 0.5 billion Swiss francs annually to provide nearly the entire Swiss population access to the fiber network by 2035. This sets the foundation for shutting down the copper network and significantly reducing power consumption.
