Set up your router using the step-by-step guide for your Internet-Box.

  1. Check whether your internet connection has already been activated
  2. Connect the Internet-Box using the original Swisscom cables
  3. For a fibre-optic connection, you will need the OTO number. You can find this on the fibre-optic socket.
  4. Follow the guide for your Internet-Box model
  5. Wait until the Internet-Box has fully started up and the connection has been established

To the guide for your Internet-Box

Note:

Please bear in mind the following points before setting up your internet connection:

  • The connection must be officially activated by Swisscom.
  • Use only the original cables supplied.
  • For fibre-optic connections, the OTO number must be entered or stored correctly.
  • Place the Internet-Box in an open location and not inside a closed cupboard.
  • If the Internet-Box does not start up correctly or red LEDs are flashing, use Sky or the contact options at the bottom of the page.

The Internet-Box is the central router from Swisscom. It establishes the connection to the internet and sets up the Wi-Fi network.

The WLAN Box extends the existing Wi-Fi signal from the Internet-Box. It improves reception in rooms where the Wi-Fi signal is weak or unstable.

LED lights white: The TV-Box is switched on.

LED not lit: The TV-Box has no power.

LED lights red: The TV-Box is in standby mode.

LED flashing blue: The TV-Box is starting up.

WLAN

The WLAN Box improves your Wi-Fi reception in additional rooms.

  1. Plug the WLAN Box into a power socket at your chosen location

  3. Wait approximately 2 minutes
  4. Press the Plus button on the WLAN Box
  5. Within 2 minutes, press the Plus button on the Internet-Box
  6. Wait until the status LED on the WLAN Box lights up white
  7. Repeat these steps if you wish to set up multiple WLAN Boxes

Position the WLAN Box so that it can extend your existing Wi-Fi signal as effectively as possible.

  1. Place the WLAN Box in as central and freestanding a position as possible
  2. Position the WLAN Box roughly halfway between the Internet-Box and the area with poor Wi-Fi reception
  3. Avoid enclosed cupboards, metal housings and close proximity to other electronic devices
  4. Stand the WLAN Box upright
  5. Use an Ethernet cable connection where possible — this is more stable than a Wi-Fi connection
  6. If you are using multiple WLAN Boxes, distribute the devices with sufficient distance between them
