Bluewin e-mail server – IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV, Exchange ActiveSync & POP3

Set up your e-mail address in your e-mail programme with  @bluewin.ch/@bluemail.ch This allows you to synchronise your e-mails, calendar and address book with several devices.

IMAP, CalDAV and CardDAV

Combining IMAP with CalDAV and CardDAV ensures that not only your e-mails, but also your calendar events and contacts remain consistent and up to date across all your devices. While IMAP is responsible for e-mail synchronisation, CalDAV and CardDAV enable calendar data and contacts in particular to be synchronised.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) enables you to access and manage your e-mails on any device.

  • Synchronisation: e-mails
  • Compatible with almost all e-mail apps and programmes (Android, Gmail app, Mail for iOS, Mail for macOS, Windows Outlook)
  • Available with Bluewin E-Mail light, Bluewin E-Mail basic, Bluewin E-Mail advanced

POP3 is a simple, older protocol that is mainly used to download e-mails from a server to a single device. It offers less flexibility, especially when used on multiple devices.

  • No synchronisation (e-mail downloading only)
  • Limited synchronisation functions between devices
  • Available with Bluewin E-Mail light, Bluewin E-Mail basic, Bluewin E-Mail advanced
