How can I check my credit balance?
You can check your credit balance at any time free of charge in the Cockpit or by text message.
- In the Cockpit: You can view your current credit balance at any time at cockpit.swisscom.ch. Access is free worldwide and is also possible even if your credit balance is 0.
- By text message: Text STATUS to 444. You will receive a text message with your current credit balance.
Can prepaid credit expire?
Prepaid credit expires in the following cases (the SIM card becomes invalid and the number returns to Swisscom):
- You port your number to another provider (number portability)
- The Prepaid SIM has not been used for 12 months
- The Prepaid service is used fraudulently
What happens to the prepaid credit if it is not used?
If the prepaid service is not used for 12 months, the SIM card or eSIM profile becomes invalid, the remaining prepaid credit lapses and the number reverts to Swisscom without compensation in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions for Mobile Prepaid Services.
Non-use comprises all activities that do not result in a change (reduction or increase) to the prepaid credit, e.g.:
- Switching on the mobile device
- Incoming text messages
- Usage (calls, text messages, mobile data communication) that does not result in a reduction to the prepaid credit in the specific case (e.g. because it is covered by a paid-for package (option))
Use comprises all activities that result in a change (reduction or increase) to the prepaid credit in each specific case, e.g.:
- Topping up prepaid credit
- Purchasing packages/options
- Usage (outgoing calls, sending text messages, mobile data communications) that results in a reduction to the prepaid credit in the specific case
How many prepaid numbers are allowed per person?
A maximum of five prepaid numbers are allowed per person. The purchase or registration of a prepaid SIM may be refused if there are signs of future misuse or if the customer already has 5 prepaid SIMs.
Can a prepaid number be resold?
No, the resale of the prepaid number is not permitted. Swisscom makes them available to the customer exclusively for their own use. The phone numbers do not become the property of the customer and may not be sold to third parties. Swisscom may withdraw or change phone numbers without compensation in the event of an intended or completed sale.
Is Swisscom Prepaid also available as eSIM?
Yes. You can order your Prepaid plan as an eSIM and activate it immediately. Simply select the eSIM option when purchasing.
How do I switch from Swisscom Prepaid to a mobile plan?
Switching to a mobile plan is possible at any time. More information on the Prepaid to plan switch page.
How can I use Swisscom Prepaid abroad?
You can also use your Prepaid mobile abroad. Simply book a suitable roaming data package for your destination in the Swisscom Cockpit.
How can I top up my Prepaid credit online?
The fastest way to top up your credit is in the Swisscom Cockpit. There you can pay securely and directly using TWINT, a credit card or aPostFinance Card. Alternatively, you can redeem a purchased voucher code via SMS.
Can I use an eSIM with Prepaid?
Yes, you can also use Swisscom Prepaid with an eSIM. Simply select the eSIM option during the ordering process. You will then receive anactivation code that allows you to set up your digital profile on your smartphone within just a few minutes.
Which documents do I need to register my Swisscom Prepaid SIM card?
For the legally required identification process in Switzerland, you need a valid passport or identity card. Swiss residence permitsin the L, B, C and G categories are also accepted. Please note that a driving licence is not accepted as an official identification document forSIM activation.
Can I use mobile data abroad with Swisscom Prepaid?
Swisscom offers country-specific data packages for more than 100 destinations worldwide. Your booked roaming packagesremain valid for 12 months and provide maximum flexibility when travelling. For Prepaid customers, data packages of 500 MB, 2 GB or 5GB are available.
What is the difference between the Prepaid basic tariff and Prepaid Plus?
The basic tariff charges usage by the minute and is ideal for people who only use their mobile phone occasionally. Prepaid Plus isan add-on package that provides unlimited SMS and mobile data within Switzerland for 30 days at a fixed price. It is perfect for regularusage without the long-term commitment of a mobile subscription.
Can I keep my current phone number when switching to Swisscom Prepaid?
Yes, you can transfer your mobile phone number to Swisscom Prepaid free of charge. Simply select the option “Keep my number” during the ordering process so that Swisscom can initiate the porting request. If you currently use a prepaid SIM, please first sendan SMS with the word “YES” to 499 to authorise the transfer. Swisscom will then take care of cancelling your existing service andtransferring the number.
