Dr Bettina von Seefried wants to work flexibly – whenever, wherever. That is why she decided to use the curaMED practice information system.

At gynhealth, it doesn’t matter whether a doctor finishes writing up a patient’s medical record at 5 p.m. at the practice or at 9 p.m. on her laptop at home. «For me, modern working means that I can always have access to my patients’ files wherever I am, while data protection and data security are guaranteed at all times,» says Bettina von Seefried. «The curaMED practice information system enables me and my team to do just that.»

Bettina von Seefried is a gynaecologist. She has been running the gynaecological practice gynhealth in Zurich since 2015, operating under the motto «Women for Women». It has three locations and 28 employees – and the accountant is the only man among them. «Many of my female employees work part time. They pick up their kids from nursery after work or take them there in the morning at set times. We all have various commitments in our personal lives,» says Bettina von Seefried. «Flexible working is absolutely essential for us.»

More time for patients – and for herself
Bettina von Seefried explains that her patients can reach her at almost any time of the day on her mobile phone, by email or on WhatsApp. «The cloud-based solution means I don’t always have to be on site and travel from one location to another to view each patient’s file.» She can do this on her mobile, tablet or laptop wherever she is. «This saves me a trip to one or two of the practices. At the end of the day, there is more time for my patients – and for myself.»
Financial advantages thanks to electronic billing
At gynhealth, they have long since gone paperless. Appointments, prescription ordering, image archiving, practice organisation, billing – everything is digital.
«Electronic billing in particular gives me financial security,» says Bettina von Seefried. «I can bill electronically directly from curaMED using curaBILL. This approach to billing is really worth our while,» she says. This is because the eBills are sent directly to the health insurance companies, meaning that they are always paid on time. At the end of the year, her practice did not report any significant losses due to unpaid patient bills.

Medical confidentiality must be maintained at all times, and we must always comply with the law.
