What are the requirements for using Microsoft Teams Telephony Mobile?

Before you can start setting up MS Teams Telephony Mobile, make sure you meet the following requirements.

A Microsoft 365 tenant is a dedicated instance of the services of Microsoft 365 and your organisation data. You create a Microsoft 365 tenant when you purchase one or more Microsoft products, such as Microsoft 365 E3 or E5, and a set of licences for each.

The Microsoft 365 tenant or Teams admin center must be set up before you can use MS Teams Telephony Mobile. This enables information to be exchanged between your Microsoft 365 tenant and order management for Swisscom Enterprise Mobile connections.

To be able to use MS Teams Telephony Mobile, one of the following M365 licences must be activated on the end user’s Microsoft account:

  • E1: Teams Phone Standard + Teams Phone Mobile
  • E3: Teams Phone Standard + Teams Phone Mobile
  • E5: Teams Phone Mobile

  • M365 Business Basic: Teams Phone Standard + Teams Phone Mobile
  • M365 Business Premium: Teams Phone Standard + Teams Phone Mobile
  • M365 Business Standard: Teams Phone Standard + Teams Phone Mobile

To be able to use the Microsoft Teams Telephony Mobile option, you need an Enterprise Mobile subscription:

  • Enterprise Mobile Swiss
  • Enterprise Mobile Europe
  • Enterprise Mobile Global
  • Enterprise Mobile Europe advanced
  • Enterprise Mobile Intercontinental

FAQ

MS Teams Telephony Mobile allows you to stay connected wherever you are. Your SIM-enabled telephone number is also your Teams telephone number, so you can answer calls and transfer them to different devices seamlessly. You don’t need any more telephone numbers.

The option costs CHF 4.63/month (excl. VAT) CHF 5/month (incl. VAT) and is charged in addition to your Enterprise Mobile subscription.

Important:
Separately available M365 licences are required to use MS Teams Telephony Mobile.

Yes. Organisations have different telephony requirements. With MS Teams, you can assign a fixed network number or a mobile number to the end user for telephony, depending on the requirements. However, you cannot assign both a fixed network number and a mobile number to an end user at the same time.
