Success Story IT Solutions
Owner, Woopies Schweiz
Woopies Schweiz produces sustainable sound-absorbing indoor acoustic panels made of Swiss virgin sheep’s wool. The company has high expectations when it comes to ICT, requiring seamless communication across all channels, access to the ERP from anywhere, the facility to exchange large quantities of data, etc. Its Citrix virtual desktop solution often made its work processes rather clumsy.
With its indoor acoustic panels made of Swiss virgin sheep’s wool, business is booming for Woopies. Swiss quality is also important to the company when it comes to Microsoft services. The Swisswool association believes that burning huge quantities of high-quality Swiss sheep’s wool is simply wrong. Swisswool member Philipp Ryser, who owns Woopies Schweiz, agrees.

Microsoft 365 offers far more than Word, Excel and Outlook. It is the ideal cloud solution for companies driving their digitisation forward and promoting mobile working.
Microsoft Teams Telephony
You can turn Microsoft Teams, the teamwork hub, into a telephone system: With Microsoft Teams Telephony, you can make and receive phone calls directly from the desktop and mobile app using your fixed-network number.
While nothing is more relaxing than watching a flock of sheep grazing in the field, life is rather more hectic for Woopies, especially when a bank wants to improve the acoustics in its offices, for example. “Various experts are involved in a project like that. They need to share highly detailed information quickly because the deadlines are usually very tight,” explains Philipp Ryser.
« Now we are finally working in a truly modern, seamless and trouble-free way. »
“Architects, acousticians, builders and we at Woopies all need to communicate with each other regularly in order to find the best solution. And we need to use all available channels: telephone, e-mail, face-to-face, video meetings and online chats. We share huge quantities of data, including photos, plans and drawings. We supply products with precise specifications and designs chosen by our customers, as well as organising the entire logistics chain.” As key players in each project, Woopies staff need to be able to respond quickly and accurately – wherever they are at the time.
Philipp Ryser and his team are often out and about. The Woopies owner even lives in Spain some of the time. It’s easy to understand why the company needs a powerful “Better performance for less money: the all-in-one package makes great sense.”With its indoor acoustic panels made of Swiss virgin sheep’s wool, business is booming for Woopies. Swiss quality is also important to the company when it comes to Microsoft services.solution for mobile working. “Our previous system no longer met our requirements. We used a private data centre via the Citrix virtual desktop,” explains Philipp Ryser. “It was often a sobering experience, especially abroad, where I had countless problems viewing things, sharing data was difficult at times and my telephone availability was limited. A total of six different service pro-viders were involved with our ICT, so keeping costs under control wasn’t easy.” How could Woopies remedy this unsatisfactory situation? Local IT partner itmatik came up with a promising proposal: Swisscom could provide Woopies with all the services it needed with the quality level required – and everything would be clearly listed on a single invoice.
“Barely a month after making the decision, we launched the new all-in-one solution without any problems at all,” recalls Philipp Ryser. “Since then, we have finally been working in a truly modern, seamless and trouble-free way. I can achieve my aim of answering a customer query with-in half a day from the top of the mountain. With Teams, I can be reached by telephone on my landline number any-where in the world. We can share large image files with our partners using OneDrive and, ever since our ERP data has been stored in the Azure Cloud, the ERP has been per-forming much better – whether I’m working in the office in Switzerland or in Spain. We manage all our production processes, schedules and deliveries on Teams, where we also communicate efficiently with customers, manufac-turers and delivery firms. It’s all extremely convenient and productive. And because we are growing, I really like the fact that activating new user profiles is quick and easy.” And the cost? “Better performance for less money: the all-in-one package makes great sense.”
