The startup company Limmex is celebrating great success with its emergency call watches. The development and production of the watches have been outsourced – which places high demands on the communication between partners. An Office 365 solution by Swisscom provides excellent service.

The initial situation: Sand in the communications gears

The emergency call watches by Limmex combine high-quality design, Swiss watch-making skills and modern mobile communications technology. The products sell so well that the company has grown significantly. The communications solution that had been in use could not keep up and significantly impaired the collaboration with business partners – calendar entries and invitations could not be synchronised with the partners’ Outlook solutions and it was difficult to manage the authorisations for mailboxes and file storage across organisations. «We desperately needed a solution that would provide e-mail and a calendar in a simple manner and that would allow us to share documents with external partners», Damian Schwegler laid out the initial situation.

The solution: As precise as Swiss clockwork

With the cloud-based Office 365 solution from Swisscom, Limmex communicates smoothly and very precisely on all channels without the need to invest in its own hardware and software. The young company has also delegated the operation of the platform to Swisscom. Office 365 includes Exchange Online for e-mail, SharePoint Online for exchanging documents and Lync Online for phone and video conferences. In addition, there is a desktop version of the current Office Professional Plus package – including local first- and second-level support from Swisscom. Limmex can add and remove new users at will; invoicing is precise to the day. The Office 365 contract is concluded in accordance with Swiss law.

The customer benefit: More time gained for important things

For Damian Schwegler, it is clear that he has achieved his goals: «Thanks to Office 365, we now work with a communications solution to which our partners can connect without any problems – and at an attractive price. We frequently use Lync Online for conferences and Desktop Sharing to discuss technical sketches. That saves us a great deal of time and also some business trips. Particularly practical is that I can access my data from anywhere using any device and any operating system and continue working where I left off.»
