Sometimes, I feel like I’m working at a start-up. Here in Artificial Intelligence, we can give our creativity free reign and try out new things for Swisscom – it’s great.
Our customers have long been able to send us questions by Chat and have them answered by call centre agents. The agents rely on our data science-based response templates, which both save time and allow them to swiftly present an appropriate solution. As a data scientist, besides writing concepts, I also program the code that is used in the live products. I am originally from Iran, where I had the opportunity at the age of 12 to take an algorithm course for girls – this was what inspired me to study computer science. I was 20 when I began my degree course in Lausanne. I think it is important for girls to come into contact with technology from an early age.
