I am the head of operations for Swisscom’s digital fire brigade and, together with my team, I protect the company from hacker attacks.
We detect digital attacks, intervene in an emergency, put out the fire and find the cause. I’m motivated by the desire to always be one step faster than the cybercriminals and to find existing security holes first. Bug bounty hunters who detect weaknesses in the systems and receive reward money for doing so also help us. It never gets boring! Especially not with new IT systems, novel types of attack and fresh incidents around the clock. I like to be on the move. I also help out in emergencies during my leisure time – with my village’s voluntary fire brigade. Before I entered IT security, I trained as an airline pilot and completed a banking apprenticeship. My vision is for Swisscom to become the place to work in the IT security industry in Switzerland.
