Portrait Urs Krähenbühl

“My company for 48 years.”

I was one of the first commercial apprentices to be taken on by Swisscom (or PTT as it was at the time). Today, I am the longest-serving employee. Even as an apprentice, I used to say that I saw the company as my own and that has never changed.

When I look back on my career, there are a few stand-out moments: When I worked for the radio and television service, which used to be part of the company, I was responsible for enforcing administrative criminal law. Later, I introduced the customer feedback system, and today, most sponsorship requests go through me. I have therefore gained plenty of experience in dealing with tricky customers and situations, which is useful in my current role. We receive lots of requests for sponsorship. We are able to take on some, but have to turn down many more. I will retire in May 2020. I plan to make the most of it by travelling, hiking, doing sport and walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage routes for the first time. It’s important to me to stay active.
