If your property has already been connected to ultrafast broadband and you’re thinking about having fibre optic broadband installed in each unit within the property, now is a great time to think about ordering FTTH installation. Even if you just want to enjoy faster internet in your home or want to make sure your tenants are getting great speeds too, you can also take advantage of Swisscom’s FTTH offer.
Swisscom offers you the option of ordering an individual FTTH fibre-optic connection (subject to charge*) with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gbit/s.
Please be aware of the following terms and conditions:
- The FTTH on Demand offer is aimed at property owners who would like to take advantage of a Fibre to the Home (FTTH) connection before standard fibre-optic technology is rolled out by Swisscom at a later date across your locality.
- Installation feasibility is checked upon each request. An existing FTTS connection is generally required.
- The entire building will be connected in each case (i.e. a fibre-optic connection will be installed in all units [apartments/businesses] in the building).
- If the feasibility check carried out by Swisscom is satisfactory, a quotation detailing the necessary costs* will be sent to the property owner, along with a fibre-optic connection contract for signature. If Swisscom should roll out standard fibre optic broadband in the locality in which the property is situated at a later date, no reimbursement claims can be made for the amount that has already been paid*.
- The costs related to carrying out the installation depend on the individual conditions and the number of units (apartments/businesses) in the building. The following example can be used as a guideline: Connecting one building containing four apartments costs approx. CHF 10,000.
* The cost sharing does not include the costs for your individual fibre connection. The participation covers the additional costs incurred for the planning and realisation of an individual connection before the regular area expansion in the municipality.
