What is it all about?
The World Cup races in Lenzerheide will be held entirely without spectators this season due to Covid-19. The supporting fans and the enthusiasm they bring will be a big loss. But Swisscom has found a way for ski fans to stay up close and personal with their ski stars through fan videos. The fan videos will be shown on a large LED screen in the finish area of Lenzerheide, with the aim of pushing the athletes on to achieve their best performances.
How can I get involved?
It’s easy to upload your fan videos here.
Who can take part in the initiative?
Any natural person over the age of 14 can take part.
How big can the video file be?
The fan video cannot be bigger than 50 MB to allow it to upload. Tip: A shorter video (approx. 15 seconds) keeps the file size smaller.
Can I take the video on my smartphone?
Yes. That is the easiest way; you can then upload the video straight from your smartphone via our website. Please follow these tips when you film:
- Film in landscape format.
- Before you start: run the camera for at least 4 seconds and then start filming (this guarantees good picture and sound quality).
- Make sure there is no backlight when you film – e.g. you are not in front of a window or a lamp.
- Check that the face you are filming is clear and the lighting is good.
- Make sure that the picture is not blurred.
Which (mobile) device should I use?
The fan videos can be uploaded via computer, laptop or smartphone.
What should my video contain?
Cheer on your ski stars as if you were standing in the finish area. Dig out your national fan gear from the cupboard and paint your face.
How many people can be included in the video?
You can have several people in one fan video as long as you respect your country’s social- distancing rules.
Does my video need sound?
No, sound is not necessary. Several videos will be shown simultaneously on the LED screen, with an independent soundtrack.
When can I see my uploaded video on the TV?
The fan videos will be broadcast on the LED screen in the finish area on the race days. They will also be included in subsequent advertising measures and on our website. We cannot guarantee that any submitted videos will be used (see conditions of participation).
